Sodexo's  Health Care Division is seeking an Environmental Services   General Manager   5  to oversee the Environmental / Custodial Services units for Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, CA . The Children's Acute medical facilities is a full service Sodexo account with an HR manager onsite and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week . Relocation Assistance is Available! 


The ideal candidate will oversee housekeeping employees, and contracted services. Ideal candidate must be flexible in work hours and be able to train/ mentor/motivate hourly staff. The ideal candidate for this position will also have strong client/ employee relationship-building skills and possess the ability to manage direct reports, handle multiple priorities, quickly grasps situations and logically progress through solutions, the ability to refine systems ensuring sustained effort of achieving standards. The General Manager will work in cooperation with a full environmental services operational team in areas relating to: daily environmental services operations, improving the patient experience, labor controls, infection control, quality assurance, project management, training, supply management, and implementing the entire Sodexo Unit Operating System.   


The ideal candidate for this position will have continuous custodial / housekeeping Senior management experience in a health care / hospital setting as a Director/GM, knowledge of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies, the ability to drive change, the ability to motivate/ develop staff and focus on customer service in a union and non-union environment.


The candidate must be:

  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Successfully managed Environmental Services hospital units in General Manager/Director role
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required
  • Must have prior contract services management experience with proven track record in health-care ES

The " Hands-On " General Manager ensures consistency in day-to-day operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance.  The General Manager is highly involved in driving HCAHPS scores and patient satisfaction to meet or exceed set target.

Required : Good working knowledge of state & federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel ( able to create and work w/ formulas ), and Power-Point; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented; well organized; and strong operational & financial Acumen.   Preferred : Bi-Lingual with ability to communicate (speak and write) in English and Spanish; and prior contract management and health-care experience.

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 4 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years of work experience in housekeeping or custodial services
